Departure to Cerro Verde – we will walk around the crater of Cerro Verde learning about the history of the local plants. "Sendero una ventana a la naturaleza" - A window to nature path.

Visiting the Cerro Verde National Park on the western side of the country. You will find three different geological formations: the Izalco Volcano at 1985 meters above sea level, which last erupted in 1966; the Cerro Verde (Green Hill), an extinct volcano with two craters covered with vegetation, situated at 2030 meters above sea level; and Santa Ana volcano, which is the oldest of all three, with four craters at 2365 meters above sea level in the Apaneca-Lamatepec mountain range. Cerro Verde is now a tourist center, a national park reserve and home to 127 species of birds.

Coatepeque Lake.

We will enjoy of a great lunch and then we will give a tour around the lake. Beautiful Coatepeque lake really seats at the site of El Salvador largest volcanic crater, geologists believe this caldera type volcano exploded about 25.000 years ago covering in ashes El Salvador and part of Central America
